Bianchini-Férier was founded in 1888 in Lyon by designer Charles Bianchini, technician François Atuyer and financier François Férier

In 1889, their innovative silk creations were awarded the Silver Medal at the Paris Exposition Universelle, cementing their reputation in the industry.

Their production had an important presence in the Lyon region: milling in Givors, weaving at Tour-du-Pin, and dyeing and printing in Tournon.

From 1912 to 1928, Bianchini-Férier engaged Raoul Dufy in an exclusive contract. The Fauvist-Impressionist painter had debuted his career in textile design working for Paul Poiret.

From the House of Worth to Jean Paul Gaultier, Bianchini-Férier's crepes, velvets, muslins, and lamés were a first choice for haute couture houses.

In 1992, the company merged with Baumann to become Tissage Baumann.
