Lesage was founded by Albert and Marie-Louise Lesage in 1924 from the ashes of Maison Michonet, Napoleon III's preferred embroidery house.
In 1949, Albert Lesage passed away, leaving his son François, just 20 years old, to tend to big name clients such as Vionnet, Dior, Balenciaga, Schiaparelli, Balmain...
Under François Lesage's leadership, Maison Lesage became the first choice for Haute Couture embroideries.
Lesage's embroidery archive is the largest in existence, with over 75 000 different samples.
In 1992, École Lesage was founded with the goal of transmitting this savoir faire to the public.
In 2002, Maison Lesage became part of Chanel's Métiers d'Art.
