Tan Giudicelli F/W 1979 Brocatelle Tailcoat

Although this demi-couture jacket is worn unfastened, its construction still wonderfully enhances the waist and hips. The back widens into a fishtail and the front continues down into sharp peaks, making for a rather dramatic curved hem effect.

The orange and brown brocatelle fabric is characterized by its embossed look, with gold thread making the pattern stand out. The pocket flaps, cuffs, and collar are all made of a luscious brown velvet, and boast complementary gold piping.

Variations of this style were presented as part of Tan Giudicelli's Fall / Winter 1979 collection. It is fully hand-finished to couture standards.
